What's New at Nationals Park for 2010
March 31, 2010
Photos from a media tour of the ballpark's changes for the new season.
If the weather is as nice on Opening Day as it was for this little tour....
The new red carpet entrance at the Center Field Gate for season ticket holders only.
Changes at the Red Porch/Loft include drink rails instead of seats on the balcony and two more rows of tables and chairs down below.
The renovation to the PNC Diamond Club starts right at the entrance on the concourse.
A close-up of the flags now on display outside the new Diamond Club entrance.
The Diamond Club lobby.
The totally revamped Diamond Club bar. (No more scoreboard motif.)
The Diamond Club's new lounge area.
Diamond Club seating. If you can't remember what the old Diamond Club looked like, here are some photos.
Another view of the bar.
Another view of the dining area.
New lounging furniture up on the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk. (The wall at rear is going to be painted green by Saturday, apparently.) Furniture like this is also installed on the Plaza side of the Red Porch restaurant.
Expanded entertainment options will be offered at the Scoreboard Walk, including the tossing-stuff games that are sweeping the nation.
Executive chef Terrance Louzan shows off the many new food items in the ballpark for this season.
Chicken and waffles (available at the new Change Up Chicken in Section 130), yogurt parfaits, wraps, and of course big ole hot dogs will be available.
More new food items.
I personally can vouch for the red velvet cupcakes, with a sour cream frosting that about did me in.
If you and six of your friends really want a pretzel, try the two-pound Victory Knot.
In case you haven't been to the ballpark since Opening Day last year, these two food outlets are new to you.
Cherry blossom trees on the Center Field Plaza, waiting to pop. (These bloom a little later than the Tidal Basin ones, so look for them in mid-April.
Did I mention that it'd be nice if this weather holds?
