April 9, 2005 - Looking east on L Street from South Capitol, back when Nation was still flourishing and there wasn't much else going on.

July 18, 2006 - The view from Half and L in 2006, with the 20 M office building under construction at rear, the Navy Yard Metro station chiller plant at center, and the Empire DC Cab building at the far end.

On Oct. 24, 1977, a fire killed nine men who were in the movie theater on the second floor of what was then the Cinema Follies gay nightclub. Identification of those who died was hampered by the fact that, at that time, many homosexuals did not carry identification in case of police raids or other activity. It was the deadliest fire in DC to that time. I wrote about the fire in 2010.
