's 2008 rendering of 250 M Street, as seen from 2nd and M.
The left/west side of the building faces Canal Park
. If DDOT moves in,
the building's height is expected to be reduced by one floor.
The northeast corner of 2nd and M in August 2003, the same angle as seen in the rendering above. The boarded-up gas station was torn down one month later. The red brick building at left is an Arthur Capper apartment
block, which was demolished in early 2005. (08/03)
The same location, with the billboard announcing the project, in May 2007. 300 M Street is at rear right. And that's pretty much how the southern part of Square 769 still looks, eleven years later.
The northwest corner of 3rd and M, in September 2000. The building under construction is 80 M Street.

- The same location, with the mixed-income apartment building
that will occupy the north half of the block under construction. The Capper buildings on this block were demolished in January, 2005, and the DOT HQ
has risen at the end of 2nd Street, across M Street.
