Early 2015 renderings of the two residential buildings planned for "Parcel O" at the Yards. At left is the view looking southeast at 4th and Tingey, showing both the 138-unit condo building known as the Bower being developed by PN Hoffman (fronting Tingey) and the 190-unit rental building by Forest City. At right is a view looking westward from what will be a new 5th Street, with a new block of Water Street running at the south end of the block. (From the 35% Design Review submission to the National Capital Planning Commission.)
Aug. 5, 2017 - In early summer 2016 fences went up around Parcel O and some initial site clearing work began, and a year later a crane was finally installed and vertical construction was hesitantly getting underway.
Oct. 16, 2010 - From early 2010 to late 2015, Parcel O was home to the operations of the DC outlet of Trapeze School New York. (It has since moved to New Jersey and Tingey.)
Feb. 26, 2017 - Official confirmation that the PN Hoffman portion of the project is called "The Bower," and sales should be underway in 2017.
Sep 24, 2007 - The southeast corner of 4th and Tingey, back before any development was underway at the Yards. This is the same corner as in the above left rendering.
August 5, 2017 - The same location, with construction underway. Click to see all available photos of this location.
May, 2004 - The corner of 5th Street and Tingey Avenue did actually exist back before the Yards started being redeveloped, as seen here.
A 2015 rendering showing what the same location is expected to look like after development. The condo building is to the right, facing Tingey, with the residential building at rear.
February 26, 2017 - The current view of the northeast corner of 4th and Water. Click to see all available photos of this location.
A 2015 rendering showing what the same location is expected to look like after development, with the rental building running north along 4th Street and with the condo building at the north end of the block. Not seen at far right will be the new extension of Water Street eastward to the rebuilt 5th Street.
