Facing South Capitol between K and L will be 1000 South Capitol, which was originally a proposed 320,000-sq-ft office building but which was revealed in late summer 2015 to be changing to a residential project with somewhere between 300 and 360 units. No timeline has been announced. Rendering from a November 2015 BZA filing.

Feb. 11, 2007 - The southeast corner of South Capitol and K Streets, SE, the same angle as the above renderings, back in early 2007.
April 26, 2015 - The same location, now with 1015 Half Street dominating. Click to see all available photos of this location.
What South Capitol between K and L currently looks like, as seen from across busy South Capitol Street. Just a big ole empty lot, backed by the buildings that are on the 1015 Half Street portion of the block. You can see Capitol Hill Tower at rear center. Nation was demolished in May 2007. (02/07)
When you look north into the 1000 South Capitol lot from L Street, the view of the Capitol dome does a nice job of diverting your eyes from the rubble. (07/06)
The same location in January 2008, as construction on a temporary surface parking lot gets underway. (1/20/08)
