Square 698 is one city block, bounded by South Capitol Street, L Street, M Street, and Half Street. Its southeast corner is now home to the 20 M Street office building, completed in 2007. Also planned is SC1100, a 350,000-sq-ft office building at 1100 South Capitol Street with no current timeline for construction. The St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, opened in 1905, sits at South Capitol and M. The block's northeast corner currently houses the chiller plant for the Navy Yard Metro station; Metro is expected to select a developer for this site in early 2008.
