A whole lot of city and federal dignitaries and a whole lot of development bigwigs gathered for the ribbon cutting at the Yards Park on the banks of the Anacostia River a few blocks east of Nationals Park.
 

The park's eastern end, to be known as the River Street Gardens, not quite ready for the public.
