Little Updates from the Yards Park, April 23, 2011
Just a couple of images of note from a lovely spring evening at the Yards Park
Work continues on the Foundry Lofts
building just north of the park. It's expected to be finished this fall.
A barge is now in place and work appears to have begun on the floating bridge that will connect the Yards Park with Diamond Teague Park, allowing visitors to walk directly between the Yards Park and Nationals Park. This also is expected to be completed this fall.
Early evening sun.
Windows and doors have now been installed in retail bays in the lower level of the overlook.
The Sensorium dome, with foodies arriving for the dinner that is described as a combination of Top Chef and Cirque du Soleil. It runs through May.
A wider shot of the tent, with Navy Yard buildings behind it.
On April 1, the Navy Yard began allowing limited access to its portion of the riverwalk, but only from 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday. So I was out of luck. (Note the forlorn shadow behind the fence at bottom.)
But at least I was able to read all the rules and restrictions!
Spring flowers in the River Street Garden, at the east end of the park.
