Walking into the park from near Third Street, with the pedestrian bridge and Canal Basin (and the Anacostia River) up ahead. The bridge will be painted a more whitish-beigeish-steelish color. (link)
Looking across the Canal Basin toward the now-naked Lumber Storage Shed. When the park opens in late summer, the shed will remain open as it looks now, but eventually there will be retail offerings and glass walls. (link)

Here it is, the portion of the park being anticipated so highly: The Dog Park, on the far western edge, between the WASA building and the Great Lawn. (link)
The westernmost tip of the park, with Diamond Teague Piers at right in the distance. Someday there will be a floating bridge to connect the two parks (the distance is much smaller than it appears in this wide-angle shot), but there's currently no timeline for construction. (link)
The Lumber Shed, as seen from the Overlook. The Shed is being cleaned up and visitors will be allowed to walk through the ground floor level when the park opens in late summer. Eventually there will be retail on both floors, and the building will receive a glass exterior. (link)

The corner spot is where the 60-foot light tower will be installed--originally it was not going to arrive until the park's second phase, but it's now expected that the tower will arrive by barge in July and be raised into position in time for the park's opening.
