The DC government has
filed court papers to seize the properties of 16 landowners in the footprint of the
new baseball stadium, according to Wednesday's
Post. The owners have 20 days to challenge the constitutionality of the takeover; if the courts do not block the city's takeover, the properties must be vacated within three months, and juries may ultimately have to decide what the owners get paid if no agreements can be reached. Seven other owners have agreed to sell their land.
