A 'Beer Garden' at Half and N?
The agenda for the April 13 ANC 6D meeting has been mailed out (though isn't yet posted online), and one of the items is "Akridge Realty Beer Garden"--apparently they are looking to have a summertime offering on their land at Half and N, across from the ballpark. I presume it would just be on game nights, though I don't know for sure, and don't know anymore than what I've written here. More as I get it....

Seeing as Munich is my favorite city, anything that gets DC closer to it on the coolness scale is good with me!

Amazing idea. JD, if you refer to the archives, you'll see I suggested this very thing, albeit for the garage instead of parking lot. But either way, fantastic idea that will breathe life, fun and vibrancy into that important street.

If true, get your pre-game drink-on (and probably for not $7 a beer!)

The way the Nats are going (0-2), there may be more young people in the "Akridge Realty Beer Garden".. than at the game.

JD - have you taken a photo of that hilarious 'Hit It Here' sign about 1,000+ feet from home plate outside the stadium? Sounds like it will be near this new beer garden. (Pass out the hard hats?)
The 'beer garden' in the stadium - last year, anyway - were run by the Miller Lite girls - and they were always empty, as you had to 'win' access by answering trivia at some bar on Penn Ave or 8th Street...
Let's hope the "Akridge Realty Beer Garden" is not such an exclusive club!
[Although they are more than welcome to have the Miller Lite girls checking IDs as far as I'm concerned! (-:]

Beer garden? This whole things sounds like a ploy to sell real estate...

If they are giving away free suds, I am more than happy to hear their *pitch*. (-;

Maybe the beer garden can charge or better yet, maybe the Nats can have a beer special night, where you pay for beer based upon how many runs you think the Nats are gonna score that night or scored the in the previous game. Which at this pace, is a pretty sweet deal for $4 or $5 beers.
I don't care if this tent requires me to sit through a timeshare spech or not. At least it will be a place to go before the games.
