 Sliding from Before to After

This is from the latest BID e-mail, and I just saw them in action on Eighth Street myself: "e-cruzers.com announces their new Promotional Lunch Shuttle Service, serving the Capitol Riverfront M Street Corridor from Maritime Plaza to the Navy Yard Metro Station. FREE RIDES to and from Barracks Row from 11 am - 2:30 pm will be given on all fair weather days. Visit BarracksRow.org for all of the dining and shopping! For cooler days ahead, shuttles will be enclosed and heated. Queue up at 3rd & M Streets or give e-cruzers a call at (443) 497-4769. " According to their web site, the vehicles (which were a staple around the neighborhood during the baseball season) "have a top speed of 25 mph, produce 'zero' emissions and run almost silent." The carts "are licensed, registered and insured [and] are street legal on all roads where the speed limit is 35 mph or less."

I used the carts shuttle from the bus stop to the ballpark frequently. You're going to find you love this service. The folks are friendly and will get to know you. If a lot of people use it at first there might be some delays waiting until they can get the work flow figured out, but they do work at keeping the people moving and if it works out, you'll find it is just the greatest thing a neighborhood could have.

Maybe you should contact them about a little free mentions here for a weekly 2 hour ride. They guy who runs it is open for some publicity and might make a deal with you. I'm sure he'd like the idea of some free publicity to showoff his new business too. d:)

Used this service on Friday to take myself and 6 other coworkers to lunch from 1100 NJ. Left from in front of DOT and took us over to Lola. It was very fast, the drivers were very friendly. A quick phone call as we were wrapping up and they were right out in front to pick us up and take us back. I look forward to being able eat out more often on Barracks Row restaurants. If you use the service, make sure you mention it to whatever establishment you go to so they might be more inclined to sponsor the service. I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for this site.
