Page Through from Before to After

As if there wasn't enough going on this weekend, the National Marathon is on Saturday morning beginning at RFK at 7 am. It only skims past Near Southeast for a few feet along South Capitol Street as it snakes from the Southwest Waterfront along P Street SW to the Douglass Bridge, but folks in Southwest who are still suffering flashbacks from last year's race when they were pretty much trapped in their neighborhoods might want to check out the map and additional information provided by DDOT. But I admit that, in my currently addled state, I'm having a hard time figuring out the restrictions (if any) on South Capitol Street south of M on the map--commenters, feel free to take up my slack.

It's not just you, JD. The map isn't very clear. But, from the DDOT site, it looks like if there is a closure on a street (other than East Capitol, 6:45-10:30am), it won't be for the full race, just while runners are around.

* The race route starts and ends at RFK Stadium and runs through six of the citys eight wards. Race officials advise the public that temporary, intermittent street closings will be in effect on Saturday, March 29th starting at 6:55 AM.
* Vehicles may be parked along the route, however they will not be allowed to be moved once runners enter the area to ensure that no moving vehicles will collide with participants.
* All affected streets will be posted with temporary RACE ROUTE signage prior to the day of the event. MPD will handle the alteration of traffic patterns and enforce moving violations.
