It always seemd a little odd that Toll Brothers chose "River Parc" as the name for the new apartment building now in its final stages on the southwest corner of 1st and K--after all, there's been the mid-century goodness of the River Park townhouses and apartments over in Southwest since, well, the middle of the 20th century.
A few weeks ago, promotional signage went up across street from the new building, trumpeting RiverParc.com, and all systems seemed go. However, a reader passed along the news today of an e-mail from Toll Brothers announcing that River Parc is now the Parc Riverside.
River Parc/Parc Riverside, which according to the e-mail is now expected to deliver in November, does now have a functioning web site, with floorplans, lists of amenities (hey, everyone gets a garbage disposal!), and a few new renderings, but not the rental prices that I'm sure people would like to see at this point.
And now I shall go do a River Parc/Parc Riverside search-and-replace all across my site.
UPDATE: And, oops, I guess I should have included that the leasing office will open this coming Monday, Sept. 22.

Regardless of the name, I am going to be glad when construction is finsihed. Toll Brothers has been the worst neighbor over the past 11 months, with repeated violations of the DCRA prohibtions on construction outside of the 7 AM - 7 PM time.

Unrivaled suite of Amenities? They are offering the same Amenities like any other apartment around here. Well, all their units come with Garbage disposal - you can rival that.

Yeah, let's also not forget the absolute mess they've been leaving in the Velocity parking garage, resulting in a nice big screw right through our tire and a vacation day burned at the dealership getting it replaced...

Totally laughable....I wish that you had to gripe, moan, complain, and live in the area while YOUR building was under construction. Seek out any 70/100, Onyx, or CHT resident and ask them about illegal construction hours, road debris damaging paint jobs on cars, not to mention tires.

Sheesh.

Velocity just quietly sprouted up out of the ground overnight and had 0 negative impact on anyone in the area.

I don't give a damn what building it is, if they're operating illegally and causing property damage, I have every right to complain about it, to mention it on a community board, and to report it to the city. And YOU had every right to do the same when Velocity was being built, and if you didn't, and nothing was done about it, then that's your fault.

"I had to suffer through illegal construction practices, so therefore no one else can ever complain about it" sure is a stupid worldview...
