 Sliding from Before to After

It was a little more difficult than it looked like it would be (and had a bit of a crazy finish), but the Nats got a win for their sold-out 2012 Home Opener, winning 3-2 in the 10th thanks to a wild pitch.
It's not hard in this world of social media to find photos from Opening Day, but that doesn't mean I can pass up the opportunity to post my own, for those of you who weren't there (or even if you were).
I have two galleries for you browse through: my shots from around the stadium (both looking inside and looking out), along with images from the opening ceremonies. (I leave the photos of the game itself to others.) And now I think I shall take a bit of a breather!
UPDATE: Shoot, meant to include links to my previous Opening Day galleries (and more), if folks wanted some memories....

Just tried to get dinner at one of the food trucks at the Fairgrounds with my husband and 15 month old daughter. Unfortunately we were told it was 21 and up only after Nats games. That was disappointing. I was really looking forward to checking out the new venue.

I got there at 6:45 and nary a food truck in sight. If they can't even get the trucks to stay till 7 on a game day, I don't have much hope for this place the rest of the week.

A representative from Akridge (the landowners of the Fairgrounds site) tells me that this was a miscommunication with the people at the front gate. Fairgrounds is open to all ages whenever its gates are open--it's just that you have to be 21 to drink.

Remember that the "standard" food trucks on non-gamedays will be Bo Blair's own, from Surfside and (I think) the Bayou, and maybe others here or there. Also, while they'll be open for lunch every day, they've been cagier about when they'd stay open until on slow days--might only be happy hour-ish. Depends on the traffic they get.

I wonder if anyone can report in from the Fairgrounds postgame in terms of the food trucks--were they running out of food? That's been an issue at Truckeroo.

(And, Eric, you *did* walk way down to the portion of the Fairgrounds closer to the ballpark in order to get to where the food trucks were, right? If you came in right by the Metro and just looked around, you wouldn't have seen them.)

I actualy didn't walk down past the beanbag throwing area. On the soft opening day they had the food trucks right around the band stage so I assumed they'd be there again.

Also, I wish the vendors would sell stuff besides paintings and pickles.
