That shit went through. Please delete it. It meant for frustration toward your unresponsive and a year of 2000 website.

No, I think I'll leave it there to just brighten my day every time I look at it.
It also helps push me along as I decide whether I even want to keep bothering anymore.

Registered just so I could leave a comment of thanks and encouragement. Thank you so much for the time you've put into the neighborhood and keeping its residents informed. My wife and I hope you don't stop, but can completely understand that with people like Zoolander it might just not be worth it anymore.

Thanks, I do appreciate it, and I know that most people (whose screen names don't begin with Z) are patient and understanding.
The support folks finally issued the edict that the other bad performers on the server had cleaned up their code, and so everything should be fixed--and I got the 503 error the first time I hit the site after that. Sigh. So now it'll be once again trying to convince them that something is really wrong. Still.
In the meantime my Google Analytics stats are all screwed up (any regular visitors who feel like deleting their cookies and cache to help with that, you'd have my deepest appreciation).
But I'm not boycotting passing along news right now--there just really hasn't been anything after the flurry of late March and early April.
I've also got a huge project at work that is occupying a lot of my focus right now, plus some personal-life things that also have me concentrating on other topics.
I'm not giving up on the site this minute, but I also can't guarantee that the problems are going to be fixed lickety split. Just too many hurdles right now.

you may not have a lot of traffic, but you have a cult following - if that counts for anything...

(That said, I feel like I'm getting fewer errors than a few weeks ago, although they still do crop up once in a while.)

I'm with SWag and 2010er! You provide an invaluable service to the neighborhood. As it grows, so will your following. Which hopefully won't put too much strain on your server, ;-)
If there are ways we can continue supporting you, let us know!
Thank you for all the work you do. It's incredibly important to all who care about and live in this growing, exciting part of the city we call home.

Other than Zoo, are you guys seeing the 503 error a lot still?

I also want to express my appreciation for what you do. As a follower since 2006, this site has really changed my life (not an exaggeration). I began working in the 'hood in 2007 and was fortunate enough to be able to move here in 2011. I probably wouldn't have known about the CQ housing lottery without this site...and wouldn't have the luxury of a two-block commute by foot. My overly eager desire for MORE NEWS may be contributing to server problems due to frequent site loading. You're a gem!
And, I haven't seen errors in a while.

Chiming in, this is a wonderful site and service! It's so good to be able to get this information and stay on top of developments. I haven't had any errors for a week or so either.

I really appreciate all the kind words, truly. I would like to believe that the few errors in the past week are a harbinger, but the much lower traffic could be part of the reason. But with Zoo's pronouncement yesterday, clearly they are not completely gone.
Maybe I'll try to dig up some news in the next couple of days, now that I've been reminded there are people actually out there. :-)

I've seen some errors, but I also recognize I need to clear my cache. I can't easily on my work computer right now, though.

The errors are so weird. I've had times where I'd be getting them in Chrome and then would open up IE and the site would load fine, while still not loading in Chrome. I really still think it's a configuration issue with the server--but I'm also starting to fear that I really am going to have to change hosting companies, which is just such an incredible hassle.

First, Garber and his Facebook posts left us. I don't know what we'd all do if you left us too!!

And if you are seeing this comment, you are on the new site! Let me know when you've "arrived," so I know how the DNS propagation is going.
(This hosting company was offering the first 30 days free, so I decided to take the plunge. Fingers crossed that we will be back to some level of normalcy.)

It works for me!! Not a single issue - and honestly, loaded faster than I've seen it in a very long time.
JD says:

We'll see what happens once there's actually some heavy traffic, but at the moment I am cautiously optimistic.
I must say, it would be nice to not hold my breath every time I load a page on my site.

Works well for me. Thanks for the persistence with the technical issues associated with providing such comprehensive and valuable content, JD!

Out of curiosity, did anyone attend Thursday night's meeting? I ended up at work till later than expected. Any insights?
