Washington National Opera announced Monday that for the second straight year, the company's opening-night performance -- this year, "The Barber of Seville" on Sept. 12 -- will be simulcast live at
Nationals Park, free of charge." There were about 15,000 people at last year's simulcast of "La Traviata." It will begin at 7 pm, with the gates opening at 5:30; no reservations are required except for the VIP seating areas. (And it should go without saying that the simulcast will be projected on the ballpark's high-definition scoreboard.) For more information, go to
