Three quick items:
* I've received word that the Commission on Fine Arts
approved the revised design
for Diamond Teague Park
at its meeting last week. This follows on the heels of a favorable response from the National Capital Planning Commission back on Nov. 1
. Next steps are continuing through the permitting process with first the Army Corps of Engineers (because of the piers and water access) and then eventually local permits. Hopefully I can get a copy of the revised site plan for the park in the near future.
* There's a Zoning Commission hearing now scheduled for Jan. 10, 2008 on a series of changes to the zoning rules
that govern the redevelopment of The Yards. These changes are spelled out in the hearing notice
, and are described as text amendments that "clarify requirements of the SEFC Overlay District
and correct technical errors." There's also a request to readjust the SFC's property line between it and the Navy Yard
and also change a few of the zone district boundaries as part of the realignment of Water Street within the Federal Center.
